Inspiring Love of Horsemanship

Our programs are progressive and custom-designed for you! We offer a fun hands-on experience with expert instruction and horses that are temperament- and schooling-appropriate for your riding level. Our talented instructors are experienced in all aspects of riding and horsemanship and promote an emphasis on safety.

The Minikani Equestrian Center features:

(Ages 7-Adult) Lessons are offered year-round by our experienced and passionate instructors.  No previous experience necessary!  We cover all aspects of horse care and riding to help students develop a thorough understanding and well-rounded knowledge base of horsemanship.  Our goal is to meet the needs of our students and to help them achieve their riding goals. Year-round lessons focus on English or Western riding, dressage principles, trail courses, and minor jumping. We focus on allowing students to ride a variety of horses in order to diversify their experience and progress their skills. • Specialty lessons include trail rides, advanced skills training, or other advanced activity to be determined by instructor and are only for students that instructor deems ready for such activities
• Pony Ride is for ages 4-6 years old that will be led by an instructor around the arena for 15 minutes- not a regular lesson

*Please provide 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your lesson. Lessons not cancelled in time will be charged in full.

Indoor Board $474.75 per month, tax included.

Group Outings

From trail rides, birthday parties, to Scout Merit Badge opportunities, we provide many options for your next group outing. Visit the Equestrian Center for the day or stay overnight. We will customize the experience for you and your group. Group pricing varies based on the number in group and length of activity.

Birthday Parties

(Ages 5+)  Celebrate your special day surrounded by horses! This two-hour party includes a tour of our facility, riding lessons for guests, and hands-on activities learning about horse behavior, body language, and care! Guests may use our heated lounge and kitchenette area for an additional hour afterward for cake, presents, and socialization. Birthday parties run year-round on evenings and weekends. Pricing is $30/rider (guests not riding may attend at no charge). Please contact mschilling@ymcamke.org for more details!

Scout Groups

Offered year-round! Scouts may earn their merit badge through a fun-filled and informational program at our Equestrian Center! This two-hour session includes a barn tour, hands-on activities learning about horse care, nutrition, behavior, body language and brushing, and horseback riding.  Scout groups run on evenings and weekends. The fee is $30/rider (chaperones not riding may attend for free). For more information, please contact mschilling@ymcamke.org

Pony Pals

(Ages 9-13)  This is a great opportunity for children who want quality time with horses and other horse enthusiasts! Learn what it’s like to own a horse without having to bring a four-legged family member home!  If you have a group of three or more children who want to learn about all the aspects of horse care, riding, and daily barn chores, then Pony Pals is for you!  No previous horse experience required! Offered year-round! This two-hour session is $50/student.  Please contact mschilling@ymcamke.org to schedule!

Summer Camp Programs

YMCA Camp Minikani offers a range of Day and Overnight Camps for children of every riding level. Our Equestrian Summer Camps foster responsibility and a love for horses with hands-on, play-based equestrian instruction.
